Ashraf Sobhy witnesses the meeting of the 43rd session of the Arab Youth and Sports Ministers Council

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, president of The executive office of the Arab Youth and Sports Ministers Council, witnessed the opening of the meeting of the Arab Youth and Sports Ministers Council in its 43rd session via video conference.


The meeting dealt with handing over the presidency of the Ministerial Council from Mr. Hassan Abyaba, Morocco's Minister of Youth, Sports, and, Culture to Dr. Talib Sayed Ahmed, Minister of Employment, Youth and Sports of Mauritania, and discussing the projects that were implemented during the previous period, in addition to the projects to be established online or in the Arab countries after the end of Coronavirus pandemic, during the new session of the Council.

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy thanked both Dr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, and Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary General, Head of the Social Affairs Sector at League of Arab state, for their efforts in upgrading the work system in the youth and sports sectors of the League of Arab States. Sobhy also thanked Dr.  Othman El Ferdaous, Morocco's Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports for his presidency of session No. (42) of the Council, and also Dr. Taleb Sayed Ahmed, Minister of Youth and Sports of Mauritania and Chairman of the current session No. (43), wishing him the best of luck.

He also welcomed the ministers who are participating for the first time in the Ministerial Council and they are Iraq, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan and Lebanon.

Sobhy emphasized that the participation of the youth in the current conditions that the country and the world is passing through was a great motivation for the Council to work on providing and implementing programs online to attract the largest possible number of young people to invest their energies and capabilities, in addition to agreeing to implement natural activities that are being implemented during this year, hoping that life will gradually return in the coming period.

He added that it was agreed to launch the Excellence Award project for Arab Youth , which aims to honor Arab youth who have distinguished initiatives that serve the Arab World, in addition to honor some Arab symbols that have had the credit for enriching the youth or sports movement in the Arab world, A booklet will be prepared  Includes clear project criteria and all the details.

Dr. Talib Sayed Ahmed expressed his happiness for being the Chairman of the Council in its 43rd session, thanking Dr. Ashraf Sobhy for hos support, and thanking Dr. Hassan Abyaba for his great effort in managing the council in its 42nd session, adding that there will be more focus on implementing programs and projects for the youth, as well as providing opportunities for youth creativity, development and exploitation of their abilities.
