Over 2,000 Runners from 60 Countries Take Part in the Fifth Edition of Madinaty Half Marathon with Participation of Youth and Sports Minister

This morning, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, participated in the fifth edition of the Madinaty Half Marathon—one of Egypt’s most prominent community sports events. The race saw the participation of over 2,000 runners of all ages and backgrounds, representing more than 60 countries worldwide.
Organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports through the General Administration of Tourism and Sports Events, in collaboration with the TriFactory team, the marathon is recognized for blending sports, entertainment, and health awareness in a professionally managed setting.
The event featured three race categories: 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km (half marathon), creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere for both professional athletes and amateur participants. The marathon earned wide praise from attendees for its high-quality organization and inclusive spirit.
In his remarks during the event, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy expressed his pleasure in participating in such a distinguished sports gathering, commending the strong turnout and excellent organization. He noted that the event reflects Egypt’s growing success in fostering a culture of marathons and expanding community sports engagement.
“The Madinaty Half Marathon has become a leading annual event on Egypt’s community sports calendar. It serves as a successful model for promoting sports as a lifestyle and for encouraging physical activity among all segments of society in a professional and safe environment,” the Minister stated.
Dr. Sobhy emphasized the Ministry’s strong support for such events, highlighting their role in promoting public health, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals, and raising community awareness of the value of sports. He also extended his gratitude to the organizing teams, partners, and sponsors for their efforts in delivering the event at an exceptional level.
The marathon also witnessed the presence of public figures, athletes, and representatives of supporting organizations, along with enthusiastic support from spectators who cheered on runners along the course.
